Newly installed Vista business PC VPNing to a W2k3 server. Will connect, but times out during the "verifying user name and password" phase.
I turned off the firewall on the Vista PC. That did not have any affect on the problem
Same PC connected via VPN prior to Vista install. XP PC on the same subnet is currently connected via VPN using the same domain/ID/ password.
Are there any settings or patches in Routing & Remote Access on the W2K3 server needed for VPN from a Vista workstation to work correctly? Or is there something missing on the client side?
Thanks

Answer:
The traces end up in the c:\windows\tracing directory.
I was able to get VPN to work by:
1. running it at the console rather than through remote desktop
2. disconnecting all other VPNs on my home network to the RRAS server.
Not sure yet which of the above was the issue. Not sure if it is a Vista/RRAS restriction on VPNs emanating from a single public IP address, or if there is a restriction on starting a VPN from a non-console session. Or if it is a issue with my router (Motorola VT1000v)
