In Windows Vista, you cannot access any resources on a remote VPN server Solution

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You switch a network connection from one network adapter to another network adapter. Then, you dial a virtual private network (VPN) connection to the remote VPN server. You can successfully establish the connection to the remote VPN server. However, you cannot access any resources on the remote VPN server.
Note This problem does not occur if you restart the computer before you dial a VPN connection.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the route from the client computer to the remote VPN server is set up on a network adapter that has the lowest route metric. The route is set up whether the network adapter is in a connected state or in a disconnected state. If the network adapter that has the lowest route metric is in a disconnected state, the route is invalid. Therefore, you cannot access any resources on the remote VPN server.
